Daily in The Word from January 29th

Here is a neat tidbit from my reading this morning. I hear all kinds of stories about how people are mistreating their exchange students, Krittawit and Caroline certainly experienced this and so have a few others. Furthermore, when I think about the way that the current US government is treating immigrants (think DACA and others), it just seems to conflict with the Scripture… “You must not mistreat or oppress foreigners in any way. Remember, you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.” (Exodus, 22:21). And from a slightly less direct way but perhaps a more prevalent one, this could speak to how we in Christ’s church treat those who we consider non-believers. While we certainly should aid to share the good news, we should not think ill of those who are not part of our church or belief.
